Great underrated puzzle game!

Hello,

I had been wanting to download this game for some time now, and I finally did last week. And I can definately say I don't regret it. I'm not trying to write an official review here, but while the game does have some faults, none of them affect the gameplay (what really matters). I didn't buy this game for a riveting story or top of the line character animation, I bought it for the puzzles which are fun and challenging. I think many of the initial reviews were too harsh and unfair.

I am trying to spread the word about how great this game is, because I believe anybody that loves puzzle games would love this game. If I could just get a few more people to try this game I would be happy. I really hope the reviews of the game didn't shake up your confidence, because you guys have talent and you have created a quality product. Hopefully we will see more Wiiware games from you in the future! And as much as I know it's out of the question, I would even download extra levels or content for B&S. Anyways, thank you for the great game, and keep up the good work.

Post Definately Underrated!

Hi

I just had to post this about your game Bruiser and Scratch.
My husband and I are hooked on this puzzle game, it's simple to play but sometimes complex in solving the puzzles.. which i think makes this game such great fun. Please tell me are you in anyway planning on a sequel for this game or possibly an add on like extra puzzles? I have to admit i was very pleased with this game. My husband and I have completed the story mode and are now doing the Challenge puzzles. Keep up the good work. If this is a preview of your games i will be looking for more of them! Thanks so much for a great game.

Post Thanks!

Thank you for the nice words. Originally, we had planned on telling a fairly large story, as you can tell from the ending, but haven't had an opportunity to continue the saga.

That's not to say we've been sitting around idle! We recently ported "Doctor Fizzwizzle's Animal Rescue" to the Wii, a cutesy animal collecting game similar to the venerable Breakout, that uses motion controls and/or the Wii Balance Board. We also were the engineering team that did "Food Network: Cook or Be Cooked!", which lands midway between educational simulator and game, and is surprisingly fun to play head-to-head.

But as for poor lonely Bruiser and Scratch, no date yet for the next installment, nor additional puzzles.

Thanks for asking!

Every so often I check these boards to see if there is anything new, and what a surprise to see some new posts! Good to see that you guys are keeping busy Jason. I did try to spread the word about B&S, but dunno how much I helped. I don't know if you can or want to talk about it, but did sales pick up for the game? Anyways, keep up the good work.

I certainly appreciate your spreading goodwill on our behalf. Unfortunately, no, the sales never really picked up. It does maintain a steady trickle over time, but at this slow rate, sadly, we'll never see our first royalty payment from Nintendo.

We're not the only WiiWare developers in this situation, but I think it's worse for us because we set our price at the average (when we released) which was 1000 points, but around that time, most games started going for 500-800 points, unless they were recognizable named games, so we stick out from the pack. We've also asked Nintendo to reduce our price, but they refused. It's completely out of our control, in other words.

So, maybe we'll release PC versions of the game off our website? I don't know. We haven't really had the time to put much thought into it. I suspect we'd probably sell more copies on PC than WiiWare.
